Lower Body Lift Reviews
"Post Gastric Bypass - Body Reconstruction - Tummy Tuck - Boca Raton, FL - A little back story - have had 8 previous surgeries with some being reconstructions of the first two doctors botched surgeries. I have horrific scaring from breast implants and lifts and brachioplasty as well as surgeons who were overzealous with liposuction / liposculpting. Because of this I had been postponing my circumfrencial lower body lift / tummy tuck for awhile until I could find someone I trusted and would not be unrealistic with what they could achieve. Previously, postop would be a challenge with months of bed rest or very little activity. Bleeding, scaring, sutures, body garments etc - literally months of recovery. Pain was never my issue as I have a extremely high pain tolerance but with this surgery, I experienced almost zero pain. I had almost zero post op bleeding and suture removal was a breeze. With Dr. Megan Jack and Jason Pozner - I have had an AMAZING experience. I was out of commission for only two weeks. Of course, I listened to Dr.'s orders but I was able to be out and about within days and I barely needed any pain medicine. I did not have any issues with sutures etc. as I had in the past and my scar is amazing. Only 4 months post op and my scar in almost invisible. I could not be happier with my choice of surgery but especially my Surgeon. I am intending to revise my previous surgeries with her and move forward with a thighplasty. I can not say enough about this surgery with her. I know for a fact, my thoughts would be different if it was with a different surgeon. I'm grateful to not have to revise this lower body lift since she did such a fantastic job the first go round. "- A. / RealSelf / Jan 22, 2015
What to Expect from a Lower Body Lift
As discussed in your treatment planning session, there will be multiple procedures completed at once during a lower body lift. Common procedures performed within a lower body lift are a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), beltectomy, panniculectomy, thigh lift, and butt lift. The surgical technique will be discussed with you, along with the risks and what type of scar it will make. Our diligent plastic surgeons will take the necessary precautions to hide scarring made by the incisions within the natural folds and creases of your skin. We can also mask or obliterate scars with nonsurgical scar removal procedures.
All of the lower body lift procedures will be performed at a local hospital or an accredited surgical center with a general anesthetic. Depending on the number of procedures performed within your lower body lift, the length of your operation could last 3 – 4 hours or longer. You may be required to spend several nights in the hospital so that your progress can be monitored as this is a very extensive procedure. Your post-operation nurse will also manage your level of pain and help minimize your discomfort.
Once you are home recovering, we ask that you rest for at least 2 weeks post-op and continue to take all medications you were prescribed. Swelling and bruising are normal body responses to this surgery and it may take 6 months or more to fully recover. Delayed healing, bleeding, scarring, infection, and blood clotting in the legs are all risks that can be avoided with precaution and care.
You will need to make gentle movements starting on day 2 to keep your blood circulating. Compression garments need to be worn as recommended by your plastic surgeon. You will need to wear the abdominal compression garment for the first 12 weeks. Your surgeon will monitor your progress during the recovery process and inform you when you can return to normal activities.
Though differences are visible within the first week, it takes 6 – 12 months before the optimal appearance becomes apparent in your body contour. Your skin will continue to age, and you will still experience a skin laxity change over the course of your lifetime. It is truly important to adhere to a healthy lifestyle and exercise regimen after a lower body lift so that you can enjoy the results of this surgery for many years.
