Matthew Goodwin, M.D., F.A.C.S – Plastic Surgeon

About Dr. Goodwin

Board-certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Matthew Goodwin possesses an artist’s eye and a surgeon’s precise hand, producing impressive, natural-looking results at Inspire Aesthetics in Delray Beach, FL. After earning a Medical Degree from the Yale University School of Medicine and completing  plastic surgery residency and general surgery fellowships at some of the best schools in the nation, Dr. Goodwin is trained to provide a full spectrum of care in cosmetic surgery for the face, body, and breasts. He is board certified through the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at Florida International University, Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.

Skills & Specialties

Dr. Goodwin is one of the few surgeons in Palm Beach County to offer advanced micro-surgical breast reconstruction, including the deep inferior epigastric perforator (DIEP), among other flap and implant options. While Dr. Goodwin is a specialist in cosmetic surgery of the breast and body, his practice also includes facial and eyelid rejuvenation, both surgical and minimally invasive. Furthermore, he specializes in skin cancer and Mohs reconstruction, as well as reconstruction of the face and body. He also believes that post-operative scar management is essential for an optimal result and, therefore, counseling is a routine part of his patient care. Dr. Goodwin wants to help his patients at Inspire address their beauty with a "whole-body" perspective rather than just superficially. He accomplishes this through educating his patients about their procedure, how to maintain their results, nutrition for beauty, and what supplements and exercises will best meet their aesthetic needs.

Education & Training

After earning his undergraduate degree at Princeton University in Princeton, NJ, Dr. Goodwin obtained his Medical Degree at the prestigious Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, CT. Thereafter, he completed his general surgery residency at Washington University, Barnes-Jewish Hospital, the St. Louis Children's Hospital, and the University of Minnesota. Dr. Goodwin also held a fellowship in breast reconstruction, microsurgery, and cosmetic surgery at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore, MD. In addition, he had a visiting international fellowship in microsurgical reconstruction at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, in Linkou, Taiwan.
