About Laser Skin Resurfacing
Deeper wrinkles, skin laxity, and discoloration are impossible to treat with average, over-the-counter skin care. At Inspire Aesthetics in Fort Lauderdale and Delray Beach, FL, we offer deep laser skin resurfacing with the AcuPulse™ CO2 Laser to address deep wrinkles, scars, finer lines around the eyes and mouth, and discoloration. Our plastic surgeons use laser skin resurfacing on the face, neck, and hands for patients that qualify. The heat from this laser technology will focus layer-by-layer on eliminating the imperfections at each treatment session. At your treatment planning session with one of our trusted plastic surgeons, we will discuss how many sessions it will take to achieve your desired result. Other nonsurgical treatments may be recommended as laser skin resurfacing works well with other aesthetic treatments or as a complement to a previous plastic surgery.
Laser Skin Resurfacing Reviews
"Saw the amazing Leah for my laser treatment to reduce darker sun spots, acne discoloration and melasma. I’ve had great results in the past, and look forward to my Q-switched treatments to even out my skin tone. She always puts me at ease, explains each step and reviews after care for maximal results. The quality of my experiences keeps me returning, and makes the trek from Jupiter to Delray well worth it. The entire staff was professional and caring, thank you!"- M.J. / Google / Dec 04, 2020
"Leah is the best! I have difficult skin to laser but she knew exactly how to treat it. I can’t speak any higher of her and her abilities. She’s now my go-to-girl for lasering."- A.D. / Google / Apr 18, 2021
"Ask for Leah if you need laser hair removal. As a guy she made me feel welcomed and was able to get all my areas done. Also, I’ll be doing laser resurfacing on my face from her to. It’s fair pricing but I feel great leaving."- M.J. / Google / Aug 28, 2021
"There’s one word that describes our experiences with Inspire - AMAZING! What we noticed right away was how much they treat you like family. They genuinely listen to all of your thoughts and address any concerns you may have. They go out of their way to make you feel as comfortable as possible and will work with any special health concerns you may have. Besides their exceptional bedside manner, their professionalism and results exceed expectations. My wife and I can not be happier with the results they have achieved. For reference, we’ve had Botox, a breast lift and augmentation, and laser treatments. AND, finally, on top of all of this, we have FUN when we are there. We always leave with a smile on our faces. ALL of the staff are wonderful people! We can’t recommend them enough!"- M.D. / Google / Jul 02, 2020
"Best Place! - I am blown away with Inspire and their staff! I have been in a couple of times for various services and each time I am so happy with the results! I highly recommend Leah for laser treatment and Chessi for any type of filler or Botox! Both were beyond expectations!"- C. / RealSelf / Jun 03, 2021
What to Expect
During laser skin resurfacing, the doctor will aim brief, pulsating beams of light with the AcuPulse Laser to the damaged skin. The AcuPulse Laser will ultimately destroy the unwanted skin layer by layer. The depth depends on the patient’s particular condition and needs. The laser beam removes the outer layer of skin, which is known as the epidermis. At the same time, the laser is heating the dermis, the layer underneath, which stimulates the growth of collagen. Once the damaged layers of skin are destroyed, it will begin to crust, flake, and peel away over the course of several weeks. Once this process is complete, new skin will appear in its place that’s healthier, brighter, younger looking, and more even-toned.
Even though laser skin resurfacing is nonsurgical and is considered noninvasive, there generally is some downtime associated with the procedure depending on the level of aggression. To ease any discomfort during treatment, our practitioner may choose to numb the skin using a local anesthetic. A sedative can also be given to relax the patient. If the whole face is being treated or if other procedures are being done in conjunction with resurfacing, a local anesthesia will be given. The doctor will place the laser in the treatment area for a short amount of time and repeats this process until all of the damaged skin has been treated. After the ablative procedure, the treated skin will appear swollen, itchy and raw. It’s possible for these areas to discharge a yellowish liquid. A doctor will apply a thick, protective ointment and cover the area with an airtight, watertight dressing to protect the treated skin. During recovery, the treated area will need to be kept clean and protected. Crusting can also occur, so the patient must refrain from picking since this can lead to permanent scarring. The new skin is usually generated in about 1 – 2 weeks. With non-ablation, a patient can expect swelling and redness which can be remedied with ice packs.
